Slimgenics

So, last Saturday mom and I went to the Diabetes Expo to learn more about diabetes. There were lots of different booths about all things healthy. While we were looking, we found the slimgenics booth. I had heard them advertised on the radio and new their program was a forever thing. I also figured I probably can't afford it because of my current situation being underemployed, etc. I happened to see that one of the people that had a before and after picture was standing right there. He caught me eye and we started talking. Jeff was great and intrigued me more about the program. They have a free drawing at the expo every year, so mom and I signed up. I set an appointment to meet Jeff at a center and "go over the program" I was a bit skeptical because I really cannot afford it at this time. Sure enough I like the program even more when I learned more, but not in the right price range of free. I was glad I went and figured I could come back when things get back on track and I get a new job. Jeff called me after a job interview the next day to ask me to come back to the center. I figured "why not" I am really hoping I get the job and it can't hurt to check it out even more right? Well when I got to the center, he asked me if I minded being filmed about the expo, what I liked about the booth and what I liked about the program. I answered his questions and then towards the end of our conversation he told me that I won the drawing! Can you believe it? I have never won anything this great. Today is/was day 1, I feel good and am excited to see this journey thru. During all this time of craziness we have been going thru Amanda has managed to break her leg and will be going into surgery on Tuesday. I also should hear back about the job early in the week. Keep all the prayers you can coming our way. Thanks to the two of you who read :) Hugs!

Jobs

So yet again my boss has cut my hours. I am currently looking for a new job. I cannot stay here any longer. If anyone knows of bookkeeping, accounting, human resources jobs let me know. Cory is looking for work as well. Please keep us both in your prayers if you would. Thanks!

Buckskin Joes

Labor day weekend our girlscout troop went to Canon City for one night. We had a great time. My GPS (courtesy of Sprint) sent us on a bit of a wrong road, but is was beautiful country and a nice drive. We went to Buckskin Joes and experience it all, as it was almost the last weekend they were open. The girls had a great time together. We took one picture as a whole troop, Enjoy! I cannot seem to figure out how to get the picture at the end of the post.

Girls Weekend

Last year at my birthday bash, we decided to do something once a year. Especially since this year is Aunt Karen's 70th birthday. It was a busy year since Janell had her first baby and Heidi is out of the country in Singapore. In the end, Heidi couldn't make it to the states and we missed her a great deal. We had the girls weekend here in Colorado. We were able to do quite a bit while they were here. I had to work, so it made it a little difficult, but we managed to still have a fantastic time. Here are some of the pictures. Look for next years girls weekend I hope out east!

Behind

I love reading everyone elses blogs, so I know what is going on in their lives. I myself am very behind in the blog. I kept wanting to catch up, but it wont happen so here I start anew. Raeann turned 18 yesterday. It is so weird to be the mom of two adult children. It goes so fast. How lucky I am to have such great kiddos. Cory is still in South Dakota hoping for an extension in the Job Corps to get further educated. Amanda is enjoying high school. I am working, not too many changes :)

Happy Birthday

to me..... I celebrated my 40th birthday last Thursday. It was a great day, not only did I take care of myself, but many friends and family made it a great day. My sisters planned a great trip to Portland a few weeks ago and as you all know that was a blast! My Visiting Teachers brought flowers and chocolate yumm!! My girls scouts brought me flowers, balloons, cake and lots of fun! I had lots of calls and well wishes on facebook too! I had crab for dinner. What a nice day it was :)

Bye Bye Birdie

As most of you know, my girls are drama queens! They love Drama. The community in which they go to school (the Brighton/ Commerce city area) has a group that does several musicals a year for both kids and adults. So we figured this would be another opportunity for them to participate and they tried out on Wednesday. Thursday were call backs for both of them. Friday we found out who made it into what roll. Raeann will be playing Mrs. Doris Macafee, and Amanda will be playing Ursula Merkle. I think it is funny that Amanda's character has a surname that is really a part of her ancestry. The girls are thrilled to have a part. For everyone else, your preparation is to set aside July 10, 11, 17 or 18. It will be a great show the cast is awesome and the director couldn't be better!
